Author Fred Berl is a US Navy veteran and an Adjunct Professor at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Recently retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory, he was a senior manager leading complex, high-risk projects in the Department of Energy’s nuclear weapons complex, as well as Ukrainian nuclear power plants and the UK’s Atomic Weapons Establishment.
